This is an emulation of the Texas Instruments TMS5220 speech chip, using the voice of Kenneth Kendall, a BBC news reader of the 1970s. This was an optional Acorn speech synthesiser upgrade to the BBC Micro computer of the 1980s.

The Kenneth Kendall "Phrase ROM" (or PHROM) had a vocabulary of 164 words, from which these few were extracted to form this clock.
